   Ask them you want to have a separate insurance (it will sound delightfull to them) since you’re using the same company tell the landlord you both might get a better deal. He will talk right away. I bet he will give you their business card…

   You can ask the landlord. I don’t think there is any other way. If your claim has already been made, you will hear from the insurance company.

   ask you landlord
   but their insurance dont cover you or your stuff just if you cause damage to the place, and fire, water, and things like that.
